Su-30 MK2 wip28

Getting extremly lazy to unwrap those landing gears details.
Meanwhile Im reducing the poly mesh, and start to simple rig some components.
This is my very 1st time to create a rig/animated piston in 3ds max 😀
Oh, the cannon steel compartment was re-model again yesterday.
I guess I already 3th-4th time re-model that part.
If only I have the hi-res photo of it. Huft…

I couldnt resist to add some touch up on this renders, so here it goes.. 😀
I have a 2 lcd monitors which shows different quality of color, contrast, and brightness.. so I dont know which one shows the best.

Ive posted the wallpaper version on my devart.

Su-30 MK2 wip26

UV unwrap progress. Actually this is my very first time unwrapping in 3dsmax with a subdivision/meshmoothed modifier. I didnt anticipate that every seams in the uv will get distorted as I never faced an issue like this before in softimage xsi.
Been frustrating to find the solution in the net, finally Ive decided to collapsed all the meshmooth modifier, and start unwrapping from that hi-res. Its pain in the ass, but i managed to do it. 😀
The uv layout is still in progress, as I will try to put everything in there such as the landing gears, jet burner etc in the same page… except the hires-cockpit, missiles, engine, radome.
The most important thing is to get all the fuselage and any camouflage pattern in the same scale of uv pattern.
Cant wait to paint the rivets and panel details in here. 😀

Almost done with the fixes, a much better looking profiles now.
The front intake was a real nightmare to fix. Re-modeled the elevator as well.

Su-30 MK2 wip24

I realized that every lines in my current blueprint are all wrong. As its not a factory blueprint. (blame dawestsides 😛 )
So judging from the photos, the canopy lines should have a higher angle lines. This makes the neck of the fuselage needs to raise higher.
The landing gear scale are also adjusted here, nose fuel shape as well, added minor details to some part.
I cant wait to unwrap this, and test a bump map on it 😀
Few more adjustment, and adding details to the pylon, then Im moving the unwrapping stages.
