Su-30 MK2 wip26


UV unwrap progress. Actually this is my very first time unwrapping in 3dsmax with a subdivision/meshmoothed modifier. I didnt anticipate that every seams in the uv will get distorted as I never faced an issue like this before in softimage xsi.
Been frustrating to find the solution in the net, finally Ive decided to collapsed all the meshmooth modifier, and start unwrapping from that hi-res. Its pain in the ass, but i managed to do it. 😀
The uv layout is still in progress, as I will try to put everything in there such as the landing gears, jet burner etc in the same page… except the hires-cockpit, missiles, engine, radome.
The most important thing is to get all the fuselage and any camouflage pattern in the same scale of uv pattern.
Cant wait to paint the rivets and panel details in here. 😀

    Nice to see that you finally got a solution.Mostly planar projection right?

    I dont find it as the best solutions yet, but should do good.
    Yep, everything planar manually.

    Wow……… unwrap low poly sudah cukup menyebalkan bagiku, apalagi ini hi poly…… @,@ pusiiiing
    sy tertarik di panel lines dan rivetnya pakai bump map biasa atau displacement ya? karena sy gak pernak dapat hasil yang memuaskan dengan bump map dan gak paham dengan cara pemakaian displacement map.

    yg tes diatas ini pake bump. kalo mau hasil maksimal di bump, resolusi tekstunya musti besar. skrg dipake khusus bump aja skitar 8192×2 ato kalo mau cara konvensional yg biasa orang2 pake ya dipisah2 uvnya biar masing2 dapet jatah yg gede.

    sepertinya memang harus pake map sesolusi super gede ya! wah bakalan berat tuh rendernya nanti dan habis2in memori

    betul.. semuanya itu disesuaikan dgn kbutuhan… palagi klo uda masuk requirements industri2 yg besar sprti film..
    klo render saya biasanya skitar 3-5 menitan utk 1750pixel. paling lama skitar 15 ato 20 menitan setingan all high.
